Calvert Hall got four runs on five hits in the top of the first on five hits, but the Mount St. Joseph Gaels answered in the bottom of the first with five runs and four hits of their own. That was not enough to stop the Cardinal’s who took the win 7-5.
Andrew Witczak settled down on the mound after the rocky first frame, holding the Gaels to three hits over his next five innings of work to gain the win.
Rich Rodriguez paced a 14 hit Cardinal attack with three singles, and Colin Gimblet had a pair of doubles and two RBI.
Garrett Paul added two hits, and Alex Murphy and Ron Farley each had a double and a pair of RBIs
Calvert Hall will take on a talented Gilman team in Tuesday, April 16th, and host Loyola on Thursday, April 18th.
